Like many other Americans, I had this overwhelming, daunting reaction when I walked into the grocery store and saw it was nearly empty, but my anxiety didn’t stop there. That stress quickly escalated once I went from one store to the next, then the next. Was this really happening? My first thought was utter disbelief! Was this the beginning of the end of the world? It’s incredible how quickly things can change in just a day. Once I calm down, I was able to put things into perspective and come up with a plan for our quarantine lockdown. One of the first things that made the most sense to do with all this time was “plant a garden!”
It’s an excellent way to spend time outdoors and will give you something to do. Gardens take a lot of time, energy, and care to be successful. Who knows what will happen in the world, and having your garden is a helpful resource to have in your yard. Start by finding a location in our yard, prep the soil, then pick seeds of your favorite fruits and veggies then have at it! Don’t forget to take photos and tag me @writtenbyawoman on the social.
