Hello friends! So it brings me so much joy to finally reveal my bedroom remodel to everyone. I’ve been working on this project for the last few months and so excited to finally show it to you.
Let me start by saying that this look is entirely different from the rest of my house. My home decor is Tuscan, but our backyard is going through the remodeling of a tropical theme, and since my bedroom overlooks the yard, I decided I wanted the bedroom to feel as if I was on vacation. Currently, in quarantined and with no real idea of when things will get back to normal, I decided to transform my room into my version of a luxury resort/beach room. It’s been fun!
I love my bedroom now and never want to leave it!
When decorating a bedroom, one must start once they know what kind of bed they want. I knew I wanted a resort theme, but I wasn’t sure what type of bed I wanted. I went through so many different color choices until I found this beauty at Wayfair. I love how the headboard looks like closed beach shutters. And of course, dressing it up with a ton of pillows is a must for a resort! Pillows are from Homegoods, and the comforter is from Kohls.
I’m not kidding; these are the best because they have outlets attached to the back of the dresser. One can’t get more luxury resort then that. Just like a hotel. Two USB connections and two traditional outlets. Perfect!
My room is large enough to fit an office space which I love! If my desk were downstairs, there would be too many distractions. My room has a view, so I can put on some classical music and focus on my work, away from the kids.
I wanted my room to feel like I were at a resort, and most of the places I’ve stayed at had this comfortable lounge chair to unwind in. I knew my bedroom wouldn’t be complete without one. Plus, I love to read! I read like my life depends on it. So this is perfect for crawling up with a good book.
White curtains were a first for me! I’m addicted to the glow they produce midday when shut. They’re relaxing and create a smoothing calm feel. However, having something underneath them to pull down at night is a must! I’m one moody gal if awoken to the blazing sunshine first thing in the morning.
The little decor pieces make a house a home. I found most of my pieces at Homegoods, Kohls, Hobby Lobby, and Amazon! I stayed with neutral colors, whites, blues, creams with little soft brown here and there!
It was a must! Indoor plants give such sophistication to any look, plus one will find them at nearly all luxury hotels, especially if you’re staying near the beach. I wanted a hint of green that wasn’t a decor piece. Additionally, some plants are beneficial, like the snake plant.
